This book is a classic story of friendship, perseverance and hope. The shawshank redemption is my favourite story of all time. It is poignant and thought provoking and emotional. Me and my family began watching the film after we'd finished watching all our detective series and had nothing left to watch. The majority of the story takes place in a prison located in maine, shawshank. I’ve not seen the film and i do wonder how it could be made to include all the horrific details of life in a high security jail, without becoming merely a horror film (which would be a pity, since it is so much more).
