Like a lot of thrillers, once the action starts to escalate it’s best to read all at once because the pace quickens, and the twists and turns come hard and fast.
It is a captivating, quick read that i found difficult to put down at points.
This novel is one of many i’ve read and adored, and that (like all the others here) i’ve found to be particularly engrossing, magical, relaxing, comforting, insightful, and beautifully written.

It’s hard to review this book without giving too much away.
Rather is it a blend of nostalgic recall — very definitely an adult remembering, interpreting, philosophizing over the brief period of awakening that belongs to adolescence, and episodes about incidents, often horrors, related to other people in the town.

Maybe if i had read this when i was younger, i would see it differently. Hated bradbury when i was forced to read him as a schoolgirl but what a difference 30 years makes!
