Oddly, i’d never read the original book before, which describes the narrator’s teenage years in new york city, where he cuts school, shoots heroin, has sex with both women and men, and (of course) plays i’m always interested in hearing about someone’s first celebrity crush.

He talked about how important of a movie it was in relation to drug use and drug addiction, but that america wasn’t ready for it when it came out.
