Tortilla flat book review I've since read cannery row and sweet thursday which i love, love, love. All the metaphors and descriptive language is incredible, but his choice of topics always irritates me. To me, it seems mostly a view into what life was like for people of that time and place.

It’s one that i would like to return to in the future because it seems like a book that will grow on me with each read. I hated grapes of wrath. Clocks may be eschewed in tortilla flat, but time marches on.
